Hawaiian Turtle
Although tedious at first, this project slowly began to grow on me. It started out as an excuse for not taking the dog for a walk. My mom asked me if I was willing to walk the dog, and when I looked outside it was snowing hard, the temperature was twenty degrees, and the wind was blowing. So naturally, I said the first thing that popped into my head.
"Sorry, mom, but I have art homework that needs to be done."
I scurried into my room and sat myself down on the old bar stool that was pulled up against the counter. I pulled out the drawing from the makeshift portfolio and set it down. The turtle laughed at me from the thin paper, sneering at me. I could almost hear it say, "You're never going to get me done." I pulled out my drawing pencils and, slowly at first, began to shade in my turtle. I had made some progress before dinner, and the next night I finished it, taking time from the time I could have been spending staying up late during my winter break to get it complete. Also during the course of my break I painted my mural, which can be seen under "Outside of Art Class". The turtle can be seen siting on the counter where all my art is done.
Honestly, I have fallen in love with shading. While waiting for my cousin Michael to arrive at our house, I began and nearly finished a shaded rose with the area around it shattered. I know for a fact that I will keep shading for a long while into the future.

"The Indian Maze"From this piece I learned how to carve into a block, still not finishing the second one that I started. I would like to get around to it eventually.

"Junior's"This was my favorite drawing that I did in Fine Arts Exploration. I worked hard on it, working at home for several hours until I finally finished.
